The Student Technology Standards document outlines the proposed standards (draft form at this point) for what the state DOE expects K-12 students to know and be able to do in order to use technology for learning. Some of the expectations are quite ambitious (A kindergarten student should "master" the ability to recognize and name the major components of a computer and understand their basic functions).

The Acceptable Use Policy presents the Northampton public schools' goal in providing Internet access to teachers, staff and students in order to promote educational excellence in the schools through resource sharing and communication. Staff and students are encouraged to use the Internet to pursue intellectual activities, seek resources, access libraries and engage in learning activities.

Technology Standards for Teachers. These are the 6 standards recognized by the Massachusetts DESE that teachers should focus on while implementing curriculum plans that include methods and strategies for applying technology to maximize student learning.
