5th Grade Graduation is scheduled for Friday June 23rd, the time will be forthcoming

Make sure children are dressed appropriately for the season.  Several students do not like to wear coats or jackets while playing outside  but we maintain a practice in which they do when it is above 32 degrees.   To support us in this practice we point out how parents and guardians had them dressed for school.  If there is snow on the ground and students want to play in it,  snow pants, gloves, hats and boots are required.

PLEASE remember and follow our pick up and drop off procedures.  The bus loop (office entrance) should not be used by any parent vehicles** between 8:30 and 9:00 and 2:55 and 3:15.  Buses and vans are picking up and dropping off, several students are out there and when buses have their red flashing lights on, it is illegal to pass them as they are parked so parent vehicles end up trapped until arrival or dismissal is over.

WALKER PICK UP... Our walker pick up area is managed as best as we can and with input from the Northampton Police Department and the Transportation Department.  We are supported by a Crossing Guard.  It is important for traffic flow and safety that once in the traffic line that you please remain in your cars, do not park and leave your vehicles or leave the line as it negatively could affect traffic on Florence Street for those traveling in either direction.  Please progress forward as students are picked up.  This process has been streamlined with two adults using walkie talkies to inform students of their rides arrivals and we can usually move 6-7 cars at a time filling the loop and ensuring all are picked up safely by 3:15.

We are Looking for a parent volunteer who might be interested in with small groups of students on a popular computer-based reading program - no prior experience is needed as we can train.  Call the office to let us know.

PARENTS AND GUARDIANS:  Are you interested in serving as a home room representative or volunteering in classes?  The School Council is looking to increase volunteerism at many grade levels at Leeds.  Contact Principal Canata if you are interested..

Are you interested in the LEAP program?  LEAP is our After School Enrichment program that provides opportunities for learning and participating in any number of activities.  We are always looking for instructors who want to bring their talents and interests to Leeds. Perhaps you know somebody who would be great.  Call the main office to get details on how one can become a part of this program.
