NHS Enrollment Procedures
We welcome students and families interested in attending Northampton High School.
Students currently enrolled in the Northampton Public School District and who are attending JFK Middle School are automatically enrolled for entrance into Northampton High School in the fall of their 9th Grade year. Students who are attending school in another district, in a public charter school, or in a private school, and wish to enroll at Northampton High School must complete the registration process. This is the case for any student who is not currently enrolled in the Northampton district, whether they were previously enrolled in the district or not. Students enrolling at NHS must be residents of Northampton, Florence or Leeds unless they have previously applied for and received a School Choice slot (please call the District School Choice Coordinator at 587-1328 for more information on the School Choice Program).
Enrollment consists of completing a packet of forms and providing several required documents. The registration packet is available by contacting the NHS Guidance Office at 413-587-1353. The forms are not available online. Forms must be completed and returned in person by the student's legal guardian to Julie Kurose, High School Registrar, along with the following documents:
Following the submission of completed paperwork to the Registrar, an appointment with a guidance counselor will be made in which the student and parent/guardian will be able to plan the students' schedule and discuss any questions or concerns they may have.
For all questions regarding registration and enrollment at the high school, please call Julie Kurose at 587-1353.
